Closures and Loss of Accreditation

The campuses in Chandigarh and Kolkata (India), plus Dhaka (Bangladesh), all closed within 4 years of opening due to lack of students. During this period Raffles' partner in its Indian Joint Venture, Educomp Solutions Ltd, was reported to be struggling financially, and divesting from many subsidiaries.

In 2012 the government of Vietnam ordered Raffles to cease operating the campuses in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh; consequently 400 students had to be relocated to Singapore; Sydney, Australia; and Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

In 2013 Raffles Education Corp established a university in Negombo (Sri Lanka), and three colleges in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Batam and Medan (Indonesia). However, the proposed university in Negombo Sri Lanka has yet to begin construction as of April 2016.

Also in June 2013 the RCDC campus at Queen Street in Auckland, New Zealand was taken over by New Zealand School of Education.

In June 2015, Raffles College of Design and Commerce in Australia lost its accreditation with TEQSA (Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency), an independent statutory authority within the Australian Government, for not meeting requirements of the Higher Education Standards Framework - specifically, the Threshold Standards, which all providers must meet in order to enter and remain within Australia's higher education system.

In November 2016 it was reported that the campus of Raffles Millennium International in Bangalore, India had closed its doors at the end of October 2016 without prior warning.

Apart from the Bengaluru college, the Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai campuses were also shut down in 2016.
